The Threat

Zero natural predators. 2 million eggs per year. And they’re ravenous hunters. Each one can consume up to 5,000 prey fish in a year. It’s no wonder that lionfish have become one of the single most invasive species our planet has ever seen.

The Takeover

Since the 1980s, lionfish have spread from the Indo-Pacific to the Americas from Boston to Brazil, and they’re wiping out local food chains everywhere. To make matters worse, they’ve even begun showing up in the Mediterranean.
